NATIONALISM STUDIES

Proposals offering theoretical approaches to the study of nationalism or based on empirical findings from any region of the world, i.e., not limited to the ASN geographic areas listed below.
BALKANS
​
Includes Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.​
CENTRAL EUROPE
​
Includes the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
UKRAINE
BELARUS
RUSSIA
​
Minus the North Caucasus.
CAUCASUS
​
Includes the states of the South Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan), as well as the territories of the North Caucasus in Russia (Chechnya, Dagestan, North Ossetia and several others).
EURASIA
​
Includes the states of formerly Soviet Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), and China.
TURKEY AND GREECE
​
Includes Cyprus.
WORLD DOCUMENTARIES
​
Documentary films produced between 2025-2027 running at least 50 minutes, and set in an ASN geographical area, or on the themes of nationalism or migration/diaspora/refugees in any area of the world. Shorter films cannot be considered.
BOOK PANELS
​
Books published in 2026 or early 2027 on a theme set in an ASN geographical area, or on nationalism or migration/diaspora/refugees in any area of the world. Edited volumes will not be considered.
