NATIONALISM STUDIES
Proposals offering theoretical approaches to the study of nationalism or based on empirical findings from any region of the world, i.e., not limited to the ASN geographic areas listed below.
BALKANS
Includes Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.
CENTRAL EUROPE
Includes the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
UKRAINE
BELARUS
RUSSIA
Minus the North Caucasus.
CAUCASUS
Includes the states of the South Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan), as well as the territories of the North Caucasus in Russia (Chechnya, Dagestan, North Ossetia and several others).
EURASIA
Includes the states of formerly Soviet Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), and China.
TURKEY AND GREECE
Includes Cyprus.
WORLD DOCUMENTARIES
Documentary films produced between 2020 and early 2023, running at least 50 minutes, and set in an ASN geographical area, or on the themes of nationalism or migration/diaspora/refugees in any area of the world. Shorter films cannot be considered. See a list of films shown at the last in person ASN 2019 Convention.
BOOK PANELS
Books published in 2020-2022 on a theme set in an ASN geographical area, or on nationalism or migration/diaspora/refugees in any area of the world. Edited volumes will not be considered.
